It was a tough year after my mom was diagnosed with Stage 3 Inoperable Lung cancer last Dec. 2016 just days before Christmas. I felt so broken. I couldn't raise the money to go see her but I've learned God is great at teaching us lessons in life. I learned a few.
#1) Miracles happen Every day with Prayer
#2) You cant depend on anyone
#3) People would rather help animals than other people.
#4) People judge a lot what they don't understand and have never experienced before.
My mom fought so hard to live and I feel like God gave me back my mom. For the last 6 years before this, my mother and I did not talk. She moved to Florida back in 2000, so shes never met or held any of my babies, her Grandchildren. Shes never had the money to come back and I've never had the money to go see her. Even as I thought I would lose her I couldn't go. I make sure I text her often as possible now. I hate talking on the phone but I also keep thinking if I write I will always have her words. If I talk to her every time I'm gonna forget a lot of what she said. I cant record our convos or God knows I would. This was the very 1st picture I saw of my mom with no hair from WEEKS of Mega Chemo and intense Radiation. At the end she had she had double doses and though no one ever heard of it, that's what they did. 3 weeks apart each double dose treatment and she had many weeks of that too.
Miracles happen!! Just don't lose your faith and hold on tight cause it's a scary ride for the entire family. I wish I could have been there for her.
Darlene Hobson is a Lung Cancer Survivor!!!
Her hair is starting to grow back as you can tell from the picture. I told some of my story under a support post on Facebook and was called a total liar because she was an Oncology nurse and NO ONE comes back from stage 3 Lung Cancer. Someone else responded to the hateful words- probably cause you were their nurse, Miss positivity NOTTTT. Any nurse should know better than to act in such a disrespectful way. I wonder what a nurse like that says to people who are trying to save their loved ones :(
I tell my story where I can because I think hope & Prayers are so important when fighting ANY Cancer. My mom was a miracle and we never lost our faith.
Do we worry about it coming back? Oh yes, I do!! I have heard it comes back with vengeance and heads to the brain so we are always praying it stays away and she stays Cancer Free forever :) The Doctors in Florida Cancer center are Angels!! They healed my mom with the help of Gods hands who guiding them every step of the way.
Don't wait for a tragedy to happen to your family to be whole again. Brothers and sister fight yes but in the end, that's all they will have left and they need to be there for each other I believe.
I will keep updating but hopefully, this story is a happy ending and no updates unless good ones are needed :)
I myself m celebrating 2 Years Cigarette free since Oct 1st, 2015
God Bless any of you going through hard times right now. I hope my story helps just one person hold on to the hope they need 💗🙏
